2019 Trends

And now we welcome the new year.
Full of things that have never been.
— Rainer Maria Rilke

It is with confidence, a clear path, and a great amount of gratitude that we, at Valerianne, are stepping into 2019.

2018 was a year of learning, growth, and changes. We threw off our retailer hat which was harder on the heart than we expected (we miss our Saturday afternoon chats with long time loyal retail customers.) We came to terms that it was better to focus energies and attentions in one direction and bring thoughtful, livable design directly to our clients homes.

Because of that, we have strengthened relationships with the craftspeople, contractors and manufacturers that do the work to what we expect, what our clients expect - never cutting corners.

We have been grateful for the confidence and trust that a number of clients have put in our vision and abilities, and for the projects we are proud to have completed in 2018. We have been inspired by these projects and have learned from each one building a great momentum for the new, and next, to come in 2019.

Valerianne Resolutions

During this season of new starts and resolve, we find ourselves ready and refreshed. Looking forward, to the exciting new design paths our client’s homes will inspire us to take, we look into 2019 with intention and determination to create thoughtful, livable spaces for our clients to come home to.

2019 design trends

(that have made us send each other a DM on Instagram and say…yaaasssss!)

Black and White

From tuxedo kitchens to the continued use of buffalo check, the contrast and starkness of black and white has become serenity to our eye.

Wallpaper

This love affair will never end. We have made wallpaper converts out of many a client and there are few past projects in which wallpaper has not made an appearance. We intend to keep this practice alive and well in 2019.

Four Poster Beds

Yes. Yes. Yes please. The #turndownservice inspiration photo file is full of four posters. Grand and cozy all at once. We are all about making dreams come true and I can’t think of a better place to dream than in a statement making, four poster bed.

White Walls/statement walls

Fresh and bright. Keep it clean. Just the perfect back drop to make textiles, art and texture pop in a restful way. Life has a way of getting crazy - a white wall is was wonderful place to find serenity now. And on the flip side - four walls in a bold deep color choice can add “I got this” sophistication to any space.
